I am very happy with this device because it really provides my needs when it comes to high-quality business printing. It’s also an Energy Star qualified device which makes it not only beneficial for your use but also for Mother Nature as well.

The device has a special security feature which allows password protection so you can secure your device from being used or accessed by unauthorized individuals. The printer has an automatic double-sided printing function which allows you to save paper costs by up to 25%. The additional third input tray can carry up to 500 sheets. There is a standard 250-sheet input tray and a standard 50-sheet multi-purpose tray. The print resolution can reach up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi and it can produce a monthly duty cycle of up to 50,000 pages.
It can produce print outs of up to 35 pages per minute and the first page can come out in as fast as 8 seconds. It is excellent for business printing because it’s speedy and produces high-quality prints. The printer is a monochrome device which means that it can only print black and white documents. There are no memory card slots, though, so your storage media options are limited to USB devices only.

It has features for printing without making use of a PC by simply connecting a USB device to the printer. The printer has a two-line LCD display which shows essential data for printing on the device. You can use multiple computers with the printer as long as they are connected to the same network as the device itself. Also, the device does not have any wireless connectivity, although it has wired Ethernet connectivity, so your workspace is limited to the length of the Ethernet only. It weighs 23.6 pounds, making it very unhandy so you cannot transfer the device easily from one location to another. The dimensions of the printer are 14.4” x 14.5” x 10.6” and its maximum dimensions when being used are 14.4” x 26.7” x 10.6”. This model is compact enough to be settled on any shelf or desktop. The device is unlike other laser printers which are bulky and cannot be placed on a desk or shelf easily. Before anything else, I will first give you a review of this model in order for you to better understand the features and functions of the device. For me, I have worked with the HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer Monochrome and although it only prints in black and white, I can say that I am perfectly happy with the performance of this device. I highly recommend this printer for it's price, speed, and network capability.Most businesses make use of laser printers for faster and better quality printouts.

After a little while for my home network to recognize the HP2055dn printer, it was found and added on the Windows Vista second computer.Īltogther it did take about 2 hours to completely setup and install the printer on the two computers, however most of this time was in troubleshooting the printer not found on the network in Windows XP SP3 problem. I know this might seem a little redundant, however, I ended up needing the usb connection on Windows XP SP 3 since for some wierd reason, it did not recognize the printer on the network. I installed the printer on the two computers using a USB cable and a network cable.

Installing and setting up the printer software on the two computers did prove a little challenging at first. Since the included cartridge is just a starter cartridge, I also purchased a generic high yield printer cartridge to install after the initial starter cartridge runs out of toner. One note before using the printer is to make sure during setup, you remove all of the tape and foam holding the pieces of the printer together, make sure you remove the new cartridge protection strip before printing any pages on the new printer. I printed a setup report page via the selection in the lcd menu to make sure the ram was installed properly and it showed up good. Installing the additional RAM was as simple as removing a side door and poping in the module and closing the side door. I highly recommend anyone purchasing this printer for printing any large document files or graphic intensive files to purchase the additional RAM. I had purchased a additional 256MB RAM module to increase the memory to 384MB total of which around 50MB was already being used by the new printer, for what I am not sure. Although I have much previous experience with laser printers, unpackaging and setting up the P2055dn printer was straightforward and intuitive. After receiving the HP LaserJet P2055dn, I setup and installed it on two computers.
